Darner - Aeshna tuberculifera - female

Darner - Aeshna tuberculifera - Female
Litchfield County, Connecticut, USA
August 17, 2008
My field guide was no help -- it looks like Aeshna except that it seems to have three distinct thoracic stripes instead of two. It is not a Canada Darner because it is ovpositing above the waterline.
