Green larva on Lehmann lovegrass

Green larva on Lehmann lovegrass
Salero Ranch, E of Tubac, Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA
August 6, 2022
Size: ~7 mm
These larvae were locally common on Eragrostis lehmanniana, Lehmann lovegrass, which is an exotic grass species. Also seen on Heteropogon contortus, tanglehead grass, a native species. The larvae appeared to either form or emerge from small woolly "cocoons," which I'll upload as a separate observation, because this particular larva wasn't observed in its own cocoon.
