Whatta' Wasp! - Mischocyttarus flavitarsis

Whatta' Wasp! - Mischocyttarus flavitarsis
Carver, Clackamas County, Oregon, USA
August 7, 2022
I can't see too clearly through the 300mm lens viewfinder due to wearing glasses, and some bugs disappear so fast I just immediately look through the lens to focus. I almost didn't even take this photo, noting the yellow legs, as a European Paper Wasp. Fortunately I pushed the shutter anyway, sort of an insurance shot. I should have then looked at the image in the camera screen, but luckily the single photo came out half decent. Not sure what this wasp is but have never seen such before. A Wonderful Wasp.

Thank you
Although greatly outnumbered hereabout by European Paper Wasp, there are lots of Oregon/Washington records. I've seen only one other one here in Carver.
