Little yellow fly - Poecilognathus

Little yellow fly - Poecilognathus
DeSoto, Dallas County, Texas, USA
August 19, 2008
Size: ~3mm
While not nearly as good as the other photos on the page, I believe this is Poecilognathus unimaculatus (what a mouthful!) the first one in the Guide for Texas. If this is correct I'll move it there and it can be frassed when a better one shows up. Taken on a mint plant just before dusk.

Nice find, G
I hope to run across one, too.

Thanks.
It IS fun to find something that you didn't even know existed right in your own every-day backyard!

Poecilognathus
Species should be verified by an expert.
