Size: about 25 mm
Anyone have an idea as to the ID of this moth?

Abagrotis?
I'm not sure but take a look at the Greater Red Dart - Abagrotis alternata. Hodges 11029. There are more examples on

Thank you again David, I looked at the images and I'm satisfied that this is the same moth. All the markings are correct right down to the two tiny black dots that appear on the crown right below his head.
