Interesting big tortoise beetle - Physonota arizonae

Size: 13mm
This is going to be my favorite beetle for now: it eats its host plant down to a mere skeletton, and the plant is RAGWEED! Too bad it seems to occur only along monsoon creeks in the slightly higher foothills. I'm tempted to transplant some to my lower-desert property...
