Size: 3/4 inch
Found eating off of a water plant (not milkweed)...in NE Kansas. Yellow feet were very interesting on this fellow. Another image on here looked very much like this fellow but the markings were different?

Leptinotarsa sp?
I'm thinking this could be a species of Leptinotarsa, but let's see what some of our beetle experts have to say. Nice images.

Thanx Eric for both.....I've seen some very beautiful milkweed beetles but this fellow was different from the one's I'm used to.

 
Changed my mind:-)
After seeing some recent images of Labidomera, I think this specimen is teneral (just emerged from pupa, pigments not fully set-in yet).
