Sycamore Canyon, Pajarito Mtns., Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA
September 1, 2022

Did you see any Alypia
while you were there, hanging out near grape? Trying to figure out what Agaristinae is found in the canyon.

In fact, one of
my friends called out a forester fly-by. I got a glimpse of it, though not enough to be sure. I see only one BG record of Alypia in AZ, and that a caterpillar. There was some Vitis in the canyon, though not in particular abundance. I checked a vine or two for bugs but didn't come up with anything unusual. I might go back in a week or two and if I do I'll keep an eye out.

Here is a link to an iNaturalist sighting
with a link there to a third - all in the same place
