Solitary, crawling on Lantana bush. Very docile in 100 degree heat.

Stink Bug nymph. It's pretty distinctive, but I'm not finding a good match in the Guide. With luck, others will recognize it.

I think you nailed it. I probably overlooked it because we had no nymphal examples from CA--and I wasn't looking in TX. :)
