Gregarious Caterpillars - Datana ministra

Small group of these caterpillars photographed on Water Oak (Quercus nigra). They possibly belong to Datana genus. This photograph taken at 1:40 p.m. when light conditions were better than during mid-morning (next photo) when light was quite bright. It may be difficult to identify these caterpillars to species,

Yes, Datana
and someone may know which one there feeds on oak, so hostplant is an excellent addition.
