R.I.P Cali - 05/09/2022 - 09/10/2022

Cali came to me on May 9th while I was watching tv. She lowered herself on her web directly in front of me . I grabbed my unfurnished terrarium and held it under her. She retreated to the light fixture on the ceiling and cautiously watched me. I stood there for about 5 minutes with my arm outstretched when she finally jumped. I used my bug identifier app and discovered her id, and from then on I called her Cali.

She was gravid and laid eggs 2 days after this picture was taken. She stayed with me until all of her slings were big enough, then she died 7 days before the final slings emerged. She was my 1st jumping spider, but after successfully seeing off all of her slings I kept the last 3 to emerge.
