Sorry about that. Meant to drop them here. :)

Hi, I have been sent a key to
Hi, I have been sent a key to some of the Villas from Ontario and told that the Tawny-tailed bee-fly was the only one with yellow, unstriped abdomen. Granted I am in SK, but several of my other photos have been IDed as Tawny-tailed Bee Fly on inaturalist. My question about this one was the size (at least 3/4 inch vs 1/2 inch long for most other yellow Villas around), and the coloration. So are there several sp of Villa in SK (or Eastern Canada) with this general coloring? or is the Tawny-tailed Bee Fly so variable in size? This seems to exceed the size in the BugGuide description (approx. 8-12 mm). If there is truly only one Villa sp with this coloring in E. Canada, why are most Villa sp still unidentified on BugGuide? Is there a taxonomical review?

See the...
..."Identification" section of the Info Page. It may be possible for experts to identify some of these to species, but as a rule I don't attempt it. :)
