Size: 0.75 inch
My guess as to the identity comes from Stephen Marshall's Insects etc. page 66, photo 5. I am seeking guidance here, so if you have a better guess, let me know.

We now how a handful of images for the Small Yellow Cockroach, and you can see how different the pattern on the thorax is from the species of Blattella. Here is a Small Yellow Cockroach for comparison:

Asian cockroach?
This looks like a Blattella to me, and outdoors in daylight would make it the Asian cockroach. It has a restricted Florida distribution, though, and I don't know if Niceville (sounds pleasant!) is within those boundaries.
