I don't have this mite ID'ed but the photo came out well.

Size: ~0.2mm
I don't know what this mite is. It came from one of my salt marsh samples, and this is my first attempt at darkfield imaging on my compound scope. It came out pretty well for a first try, though it's a bit blurry. I think I need to use the remote so that I don't jiggle the scope.

Laelapidae
Slide images are always easier to ID than most other photos. This is definitely in Mesostigmata and I'm pretty sure it's a Female Laelapid. I can tell this because of the vase shaped genital shield that starts from near the rear legs.

I've only scratched the surface of identifying my salt marsh mites, because they are pretty labor intensive to mount, and because (despite some decent keys) I'm intimidated by their smallness. Any expert help is tremendously appreciated!

I bet you it's probably a Mesostigmatid mite (mostly predatory soil dwellers & parasites).
