Telamona n. sp.
This is an undescribed species that Matt Wallace will be describing in the future. It differs from the Southeastern "salvini" types, which themselves are likely also a new species. See here for "salvini" type: (1).

Moved from Treehoppers.

Telamona reclivata
Said to be an oak-feeding species, although nymphs have not been found.

differentiation T. salvini?
How does one differentiate T. reclivata from the very similar T. salvini?

I'd be delighted to hear an expert opinion on my recent Telamona, which I had thought was salvini, but now I'm not sure:

Update. Sorry, on another image, I now see Andy's comments about the angle of the crest, and the mottling. That said, I really can't quite tell on my image. It looks like T. salvini, but the crest doesn't look quite sharply-angled enough. Opinions, corrections?

Telamona salvini
You are right; T. reclivata has a different color pattern.
