Planthopper - Criomorphus inconspicuus - female

Planthopper - Criomorphus inconspicuus - Female
Petersham, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
June 23, 2005
Size: 3mm

Moved
Moved from Criomorphus.

Criomorphus
Far from a nymph! This short-winged female planthopper is massively gravid, and appears to be laying eggs in the plant tissue.

An expert has corrected me - if you look very closely, you will see that the face has 2 ridges down the midline, not just one; which makes this genus Criomorphus instead of Pissonotus.
