Explanation of Names
Chyphotes belfragei (Blake 1871)
Size
♂ 16 mm, ♀ 8 mm
Identification
T3, meso- & meta- femora and tibiae piceous. One male from Big Bend (TX) had identical genitalia and entirely stramineous legs. Chyphotes elevatus overlaps in sw US, tending to occur at lower elevations than belfragei and meso- & metatibia not infuscated (femur is).
Range
southcentral & southwestern USA to central Mexico: eastern WY and CO front range, south and east to central TX (San Antonio), south to Puebla (Mexico), north and west to AZ and se.UT
