Fuzz-encrusted Blow Fly - Lucilia

Fuzz-encrusted Blow Fly - Lucilia
Newton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
August 27, 2008
Based on the green back, this must be a blow fly. My first thought was immobile honey bee.

The summer, through mid-August, was wet.

Probably Lucilia sericata as that seems to be the standard blow fly in the area.

Moved from Blow Flies.

Moved from Unidentified Fungus-ridden Flies. I'm moving identified images to their proper places as I add them to the fungus article.
