Identification
Males in subgenus Chyphotes with stramineous legs, darkened T3, and otherwise concolorous heads, thorax, and abdomen currently key to Chyphotes capitatus/mexicanus in Mickel 1967. Further refinement requires characterizing punctures on mesosternum.

mexicanus - SE AZ, SW NM, far west TX (Big Bend), Sonora, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Nayarit
