Big dark-colored

Big dark-colored "leaf-footed" bug with long antennae - Leptoglossus
EspaƱola, Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, USA
October 19, 2022
Size: Good-sized bug
Just hanging out, then crawling around when I got close, finally flew.

I don't know what the tree is--ornamental mulberry?

Sorry the image is so dark. I could submit a lightened version if desired.

Is this Leptoglossus oppositus? There's a catalpa nearby, by the way.

Moved from True Bugs.

L. oppositus is certainly a possibility, but L. brevirostris is quite similar. I'm not sure I'm prepared to commit without clearer shots and additional views.

Thanks, Ken
These are the best shots I have, but I uploaded a lightened version of this one. To me the pattern of light markings on the hemelytra looks like oppositus and not brevirostris. Also, though I wasn't paying much attention to the size, I think it was longer than 14 mm. If I get another chance at this bug or a similar one, what other views would be useful?

Ignore what I said about the catalpa. I was confused.

I'm not sure how variable the dorsal markings are.
To rule out brevirostris conclusively, you'd need a ventral view showing the rostrum.

OK, thanks.
If I see one again, I'll try to catch it.
