Laphria sericea? - Laphria

Laphria sericea? - Laphria
Montgomery, New York, USA, Orange County, New York, USA
July 29, 2008
Size: 20 -23 mm
Came upon several of these this summer. This is a very large robber fly, perhaps the largest I've seen. Is this Laphria sericea?
