Robber Fly - Promachus vertebratus - female

Robber Fly - Promachus vertebratus - Female
Ponca State Park , Dixon County, Nebraska, USA
August 26, 2008
Size: approx. 1 1/4"
This photo was taken in a sandy area next to the Missouri River. We think it has a wasp with green eyes. Any help with ID of the Robber Fly and the wasp appreciated. Thanks,

Loren & Babs Padelford

Angle is tough
But appears to be a female Promachus vertebratus. I think Edward is right on the wasp.

Thanks again, Herschel.
Getting the right angle is always tough when they're hanging in the weeds. Appreciate your help with the ID.

wasp
the wasp appears to be something like Tachytes... can not say for sure.

Thanks, Edward
We were thinking this might be a Tachytes with those green eyes, but it was just a guess. Appreciate your help.
