Cacotherapia nigrocinereella?
Leslie submitted another one of these and I just placed it here at the Tribe. They look very much like Cacotherapia nigrocinereella at BOLD and also fit with the Hulst (1900) original description. Hulst described from Texas but the MPG maps is showing reports in California. There is no public info at BOLD, so I cannot tell where the moths posted there were found. Anyway, I created a species page for nigrocinereella here at BG in case we need it.

Cacotherapia nigrocinereella
Hi Steve
I just saw this today.

I noticed Kelly Richars had collected a couple of C. nigrocinereella from Kern & Ventura county on the CA Moth Specimen Database List (Essig Museum, UC Berkeley) so I contacted him this morning regarding this moth.
He said aside from there being no records in Mono County, the ones in his collection were lighter although there is variability. He recommended dissection to confirm an id.

Next season I can collect if one comes to the light & hopefully send to Aaron Hunt. He also said "You have chosen one of the most difficult areas (the eastern Sierra Nevada) in which to do identifications"

I think you and Bob are doing an amazing job trying to figure these moths out! Thank You!
