Stichopogon argenteus - male

Stichopogon argenteus - Male
Cape Henlopen, Sussex County, Delaware, USA
August 17, 2008
Size: 6 mm
I always check for this incredibly tiny Stichopogon when I visit a protected beach. These predators are only 6 mm long and really blend in with the sand.

This shot is taken with my new macro lens - perhaps finally doing it justice.

The Wilcox (1936) key to Stichopogon claims these have black legs, which is confusing.

Moved from Stichopogon.
