huge Mayfly - Hexagenia

huge Mayfly - Hexagenia
Hollis, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
June 23, 2005
Came to UV light in meadow area surrounded by woods. Unfortunately, this one died before I got around to photographing it.

Moved
Moved from Mayflies.

Hex
This is a somewhat shriveled female Hexagenia imago. The yellow mass at the rear is an egg packet.

Thank you, Lloyd.
Are you a mayfly specialist? Could you please include a sentence or two about yourself on your personal profile page?

image moved
from ID Request to Ephemeroptera; maybe a mayfly expert will look at it here

Thanks Robin
I think I've got a load of images that should be moved to order/family.
