Forewing ground color pale to dark yellow and overlaid with scales that give it an ocherous to greenish color; nominal form from northern Great Plains has pale shading along costa, beyond reniform and often in the fold, with some fuscous shading often below cubital vein that creates a diffuse basal dash; southern Great Plains form is less contrasting, often with no streaking evident; PM line usually showing as black dots on wing veins; fringe concolorous with wing base with outer row of scales white. Hindwing pale fuscous to fuscous with fringe fuscous basally and white on outer edge. Male antenna narrowly bipectinate.
