Dielis tolteca? - Dielis tolteca

Dielis tolteca? - Dielis tolteca
Los Angeles County, California, USA
November 26, 2022
Removed from swimming pool. Was orange in real life, not just on camera.

Eventually began nectaring when placed on a carrion-scented flower (it could evidently recognize the palatability of the nectar despite its smell) and flew away. This is not a behavioral artifact; I have observed freeflying specimens voluntarily land on foul-scented flowers for nectar.

If I may ask,
why not move to tolteca if orange abdomen = only possibility among western Campsomerinae?
