June 15, 2022: running late but had time to look at a patch of Cow parsnips, Heracleum maximum, in the ROW (road right of way), photographed insects on the flowers and collected 2 leaves with miners.


July 4, 2022: 3 flies

October 19, 2022: 1 parasitoid, alive

Yes - a female…
This is the largest chalcid family. Most species are gregarious ectoparasitoids of larvae and pupae of Lepidoptera and Coleoptera, but a number of species attack larvae and pupae of Diptera as well.
