Thyreocoridae

Thyreocoridae
Cape May Point, Cape May County, New Jersey, USA
August 27, 2008
This was just a few mm. At first I thought that it was a dermestid beetle. It was inside a curled up flower head on a waist high plant that had carrot-like flower tops. Queen Anne's Lace maybe? Any ideas on the bug?

Edit: Maybe Thyreocoridae (Negro Bugs), I had been thinking Scutelleridae (Shield-backed Bugs), but now I'm changing my mind.
