resting Isopod - Porcellionides pruinosus

resting Isopod - Porcellionides pruinosus
Palos Verdes peninsula, Los Angeles County, California, USA
August 30, 2008
Size: ~ 10 mm
Found on the underside of a rock.

The segments seem loosely connected, showing a white stripe underneath.
Perhaps that was because it was resting.

The unusual matte gray color might be due to the sandy soil it lives in.
A quick blurry snap of it running away showed its dorsum to be more shiny.

Doesn't seem to match any of the BugGuide photos closely.
Any hints are appreciated.

Moved from Woodlice.

Hi! This is a Porcellionides
Hi! This is a Porcellionides pruinosus. ALthough there are some images of this species under Woodlice label, the species hasn't got a separate link.
It's a common cosmopolitan species, generally preferring less humid sites, even "extreme" habitats like hot compost heaps.

Thank you very much for the ID & info, Ferenc !
That's much appreciated!
