Very nice picture! Neolema gunlachiana. I have o
Neolema gunlachiana. I have one specimen with normal markings, one with the central basal spot greatly reduced and one with only the apical spot present. White had only four specimens to compare in his revision and one extreme had no basal spot behind the scutellum or at the humerus. All other characters fit (dark labrum and clypeus, completely dark legs, remainder of body orange)and the range is listed as Homestead in Dade Co., Florida. Mine come from Delray Beach (Palm Beach Co.) and Archibald Biological Station, Highlands Co.

Thanks John!
I appreciate the ID!

That's not tiny....
You should see some of the images here of mites and beetles under 2 mm! I understand the 'average' insect is only like 5 mm....

You're right, there are tons
You're right, there are tons of bugs smaller than this one...BUT.. he was small to me. It took dozens of pictures to get a clear one. He was at the edge of my lenes ability to resolve any detail.
But point taken!

Neolema sp., or closely related
don't see your sp., but compare to other Neolema or others in Criocerinae
