Euphoria pilipennis

Euphoria pilipennis
Pratt Sandhills, Pratt County, Kansas, USA
September 1, 2008
Size: 12mm
I believe this is Euphoria kernii, could anyone confirm this for me?

Not too common
Doesn't appear to be a common species, at least in Kansas :-)

Evidently restricted to Sandy locales and maybe associated with ants. My guess is that it's not uncommon in the right habitat, at the right time of year, if you know where to look.....

Is the clypeus dentate?

Indeed!
Yes indeed, goes again to show that until I get some more experience under my belt I should really stop labeling things to species. I've been fixing my labels to reflect whether or not an expert such as you has ID'd it, or if it was just me, making it an educated guess. I definitely learned a lot about collections and the danger of letting untrained (so far) peoples such as myself ID stuff further than genus!
