I was photographing a butterfly when it abruptly took off. Looking at the photo, I now see it was being pursued by a small bee or fly. Lousy images, but I'm hoping you can ID the pursuer.

Looks like...
It's probably some kind of a female Sweat Bee, but we cannot be sure of that from your images. Check out the family Halictidae.
