Cockroach - Ectobius lapponicus - female

Cockroach - Ectobius lapponicus - Female
Bailey Island, Cumberland County, Maine, USA
September 3, 2008
Size: 9 mm long
Need ID help. 7 mm antennae. Resembles the American Cockroach but seems too small and the wings don't look right. Is it just immature? Female based on the short wings and more oval nature.

Moved tentatively
Moved from Ectobius.

female
females, if I'm not mistaken have shorter wings then the males.
...
Might want to verify this though.

Adult.
Adult of the genus Ectobius, apparently the most common of the "outdoor" roaches in New England now. Too bad they (2 species) are introduced from abroad like the 'indoor' species (sigh). Great portrait, though!

Ectobius
Thanks greatly, Eric.
