At some point in their evolution you would think they'd learn not to cut the leaf they're sitting on....LOL!

 
Although
it hasn't worked for humans that are cutting tree limbs this way, maybe they've evolved to drop into flight. Less energy consuming than taking off? :)

 
I watched it cut a number of
I watched it cut a number of leaves this way. In one case it wasn't completely cut and it had to hover a bit to break it off.
