Leaf litter trogiid with broken antennae? - Lepinotus reticulatus

Leaf litter trogiid with broken antennae? - Lepinotus reticulatus
Presidio, El Polin Springs, San Francisco County, California, USA
January 25, 2023
Size: ca 1 mm
I extracted this little barklouse from Quercus agrifolia leaf litter using a Tullgren funnel. It has a three-segmented tarsus, seems to have broken antennae (?), lacks a preapical tooth on the claw as best I can tell, and also seems to have a sensillum on the second maxillary palp segment. I think it is probably a trogiid?

Are those very small wing pads ...
on the second thoracic segment?

I noticed those -
they look like they could be tiny wing "buttons"? I can try to get a high power view of them if it's critical, let me know... thanks!

Unless you can find a trait to the contrary ...
this is L reticulatus that has lost both forewings.

Aha -
thanks Diane - that would make sense, I think. Much appreciated!
