Syrphids, agreed

This first photo may be Eristalis arbustorum but it's difficult to tell from the angle of the photo. The next two photos are a different genus entirely, maybe Sphaerophoria or Syritta.

This is Eristalis, but I have no comment on species.

Next two are Syritta pipiens. Note enlarged femur on rear leg and "saw teeth" upon it.

"Hover Flies"? Is that correct? They did hover much like a bee. So would I be safe in calling these both Syrphid flies?

I thought I had the same individual, but apparently not!

Yes, both are syrphid flies.

Aka hover flies - especially in UK - and flower flies. With one or two exceptions, they have smooth bodies.

Bee flies, on the other hand, are fuzzy.
