Just a comment on the camera. :) I've tried many. With a cell phone camera, try experimenting with a variety of camera control apps, not just the default app. They vary in flash and focus controls and basic editing. Experimenting with supplemental lighting also helps.

 
i kind of have
i’ve used my grow lights, hahah. anything that is small just doesn’t show up with my phone camera. i’ve also used apps which make them a smidge better. but my dads a photographer so he sent me a camera he wasn’t using so i can take pics of the spiders and bugs i find. super excited.
