Megaphorus sp - Megaphorus clausicellus
Kinder Farm Park, Pasadena, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, USA

Size: ~9mm
Found a few of these on stalks of tall grass in an open field along side mixed woods. Can these be separated by an image? Which or how many sp would I expect here in central Maryland? Thanks!

State lists for robbers here:

You should have only M. clausicellus. See the fine specimen images from the Stricklands here on bugguide.

M. clausicellus
Thanks Herschel. Boy I need to explore your site even more, I didn't know you had state lists; that's great! As usual, I always check out the Strickland's awesome images. Also, in case you are keeping a list, I found a Taracticus octopunctatus on 07/12/08 mid-afternoon mixed woods near a pond. The images aren't very nice though so I haven't posted them.

Great shot of the live beast
And Taracticus are beauties. That was an expected species for your state.
