Chionodes repertor is very similar and must be separated by genitalia where they occur together in Coconino County, AZ. (1)
In Chionodes xanthophilella the posterior margin of the dark streak on basal half of forewing is slightly angled to costa, whereas in oecus and repertor the same margin of this dark streak is straight. (1)
