On flower of tall boneset (Eupatorium altissimum) along margin of dolomite glade (xeric dolomite prairie) and dry/mesic dolomite forest.

Lepidophora
Close. This is L. lepidocera - the sides of tergite 4 (if you work back from the tip of the abdomen, segments 6 and 7 have tufts of black scales, and 5 has a tuft of yellow scales - check the segment before that to confirm species) are entirely black, while they would have yellow hair in L. lutea. This is the expected species in the southern half of the US, while L. lutea is more northern.
