Flying and walking around in the afternoon (4:28 pm). Conspecifics were somewhat abundantly visible today.

Probably female, because it made movements visually consistent with oviposition on Salvia 'Allen Chickering' (well, at least that's what the plant label called it). I didn't get to see any eggs come out (bad angle) and I'm not 100% sure Salvia is actually a host (after all, moths do oviposit incorrectly sometimes) but if it doesn't eat Salvia I'll eat my hat. Moths of Western NA does say it's associated with Salvia mellifera after all.
