unusual spider--Microthena sagittata
I found one of these on my kitchen counter in CT. and am delighted to find its picture and ID here. Would like more info. like, its usual habitat when not in my kitchen; what is the function of its striking form and color--it moves very slowly as though its shell is too heavy for it so we thought at first perhaps it was a parasite or egg case; how common or rare it is--I am 61 years old and have nver noticed one before in New England! Just curious, Thanks
