Identification
Resembles a bird-dropping. Larger than the very similar A. leucillana, with a darker thoracic tuft.
Range
Northestern North America, south to North Carolina, west to Kansas, Texas.
Season
April to August
Life Cycle
Larvae feed on White Oaks, Quercus alba and others of that group. May feed on birch, Betula.
See Also
Antaeotricha leucillana is smaller but there is some overlap. Wingspan 1.5-2.3 cm.
