Unknown Eleodes - Eleodes carbonaria

Size: 13mm
Was found under a piece of wood during the day. I can’t remember the exact day but it was found either in late April or early May 2023. Looks a bit like E. carbonaria but I don’t believe that it is. It was alive when I found it and it lived for weeks after but is dead in these images. The area was in a desert but at the time had more plants.
