Aleochara bimaculata Gravenhorst, 1802

Size

4.0–8.0 mm

Range

Widely distributed in NA from AB to NS and southward to Mexico(1)

Habitat

Open and treed habitats in feces, carcasses, decaying fungi, moss, and leaf litter.(1)

Season

I–XI (mainly summer months)

Diptera larvae Muscidae: Haematobia irritans, Musca autumnalis, Orthellia sp., Orthellia caesarion; Sarcophagidae: Sarcophaga sp., Ravinia querula (2)
