Niesthrea louisianica

Niesthrea louisianica
Pasadena, Los Angeles County, California, USA
September 14, 2008
Size: 4.5 mm
Looks like the 5th instar, molted from one of the nymphs I kept in vials with buds of food plant from my garden (Abutilon palmeri).
Pronotum, scutellum are recognizeable, and the wing pads overlap the metanotal pad.
Perhaps I'll see it molt into an adult.
Its conspecifics, adults and earlier instars from the same plant in my garden, can be seen here: 1 .
Update: this was the fifth instar, and it has morphed into an adult - see new photo.
