Lady Beetle hatchlings - Harmonia axyridis

Lady Beetle hatchlings - Harmonia axyridis
Baiting Hollow, Suffolk County, New York, USA
January 16, 2008
These images are 2 of the 4 that emerged today from pupas that I gathered on 9-10-08 from a large bush that I don't know the name of.

Interesting that they emerged together. Might they have been from the same egg batch. The other 2 are loose in the house.

It is interesting how the visor like structure covers the eyes.

Perhaps I should not have linked them, please let me know.
They are all the same individual except for the one with a lot of spots.

See other here:

Tattoo
If you hold it upside down you'll see the mark on the forehead is an "M". That stands for "Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle."

How clever and modern Mother Nature is to label her creations, kind of like designer bugs. ;•)
