Flower Fly on Gaillardia in Front Yard - Eristalis tenax

Flower Fly on Gaillardia in Front Yard - Eristalis tenax
Junction City, 15 mi. SE, Geary County, Kansas, USA
June 14, 2023
This large flower fly was on Gaillardia pulchella in the native plants in our front yard. To me it looks like Eristalis stipator, but I don't know very much so I leap to the few conclusions that I do know. That's why I am so grateful to you for helping me to constantly learn more.
