What the heck was crawling on me!?

So, it's 4am and I wake up to myself grabbing a bug off of my chin and throwing it on the floor. It's dark in the room, so I look down at the ground and make out a black object crawling across the carpet. I was still sleepy eyed, but it looked a little longer than it was wide. But the weirdest thing is I started to smell the awful sweet pungent odor! I got up and looked for my morning visitor, but he was too quick...
I have no idea what was crawling on me, but the scent still remains on my shirt and chin! I've washed my face and hands...it won't go away.

Does ANYONE have any idea what this little (well, not so little) bugger could've been??????????

Thanks for your help.

Jovan

A Couple of Possibilities:
Stink bugs in the Family Pentatomidae

Western Conifer Seed Bug

Others may know of more

Some kind of...
Stink Bug or there are certain species of beetles that have a pungent odor when picked up. Someone with more experience than I can narrow the species down a little better, particularly with the beetles.
